I never even took the time to listen to Willy Deville twice. I heard Demasiado Corazón on the radio when I was a kid, and, well, that was not my kind of music. Plus his mix of pirate and child molester looks didn’t make me want to either. It was in Paris a few years ago at some record store, when I saw the Cruising ost LP. I knew the Germs were in it from reading Lexicon Devil, but I found their songs quite bornig. Deville songs, on the other hand totally blew me away. Specially this one, that later made it to a film again on Tarantino’s Death Proof, another great soundtrack.I would get my driving license just to drive on the road to this jam. If only it weren’t that easy…
